There is no need for password authentication for Azure Virtual desktops.

Microsoft is coming up with a single sign-on experience for Microsoft Azure virtual desktops which will enable password-less authentication for its users.

This will enable users to access Security devices and Windows Hello as well as third-party identity management services which are integrated with Azure Virtual Desktops.

The users will be able to log in to both client’s window session and host computer using password-less authentication.

This new feature is available only for Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2022 hosts. One can only access this feature once they have installed the update.

Microsoft has supplied the instructions on its website on how to use Azure Virtual Desktops. If one wishes to use Windows Hello and Security keys inside the session, it has supplied instructions for users there too.

Microsoft is not the only provider of virtual desktops. There are plenty of virtual desktop providers in the town. Citrix, a DaaS provider, will provide its services to users through Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This will simplify the process of providing Linux virtual desktops and applications to Microsoft users.

Oracle VirtualBox users will also be able to run Windows 11 after the database giant solved the issue of the virtual machines crashing when the operating system used to run.

This single sign-on experience will save users time and make systems faster. To avail of this feature, users must install Microsoft’s latest update in Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft has also provided detailed instructions for using this feature for Microsoft Azure Virtual desktops.
