Pronouns in Google Workspace

The company’s newest excellent addition to its corporate productivity tool collection isn’t available to individuals with personal Google accounts.

The tech giant is quick to stress that the functionality is only available to users on various Google Workspace plansAs well as available on older G Suite Basic and Business clients.

Although a nice addition, it’s perplexing that a function targeted toward personal expression is only available in a business atmosphere. Additionally, people often feel less comfortable expressing themselves.

The company already allows Workspace users to define their gender. This influences how the software company refers to and presents them to other Workspace of Google users.

For example, Users may notice text such as “send her a message”. Similarly, if a user identifies as another gender or doesn’t want to identify, The search engine giant will refer to that user as “them”.

The current move allowing users to declare their pronouns is merely a more visible method of offering those options. As well as for corporations to demonstrate their support for trans and variant gender identities.
