Finally, a new upgrade to Microsoft 365 online apps will enable users to swap easily among business and personal accounts.
Handling responsibilities while managing a myriad of various email accounts may be difficult for even the most seasoned of us. However, with the newest version, Microsoft 365 users would no longer depend on fiddly solutions to efficiently swap contexts.
People may now log in to numerous Microsoft accounts in the same browser and transition between them without having to log out and back in or utilize private browser windows.
As per Microsoft, this capability will assist consultants who need to access emails from various external organizations on a continuous basis, as well as consumer users who transition between corporate duties and personal chores such as holiday planning to-do lists.
To begin swapping accounts, users must first open any of the Microsoft 365 web apps and then click on the ‘Account Manager’ button in the upper right corner.
Users may then add a new account or change to an already signed-in account in the browser from here. When you add or swap an account successfully, the website will reload with material from the new account in the very same browser tab.
Whereas a user can add numerous accounts to a Microsoft 365 online app, only one account is functional at any given moment.
If a person has two or even more browser application tabs with separate accounts the company says the user will be prompted to reload the tabs with inactive accounts.
The company clarified that the new functionality does not alter data access rights or mix data from various accounts and organizations, but rather helps to lessen the irritation users experience when dealing with numerous accounts in the Microsoft 365 online apps.
The company underlined that each account will retain access to just the data that it has the authorization to view, and that data integrity and privacy will be maintained across multiple accounts and organizational units.
The new features are expected to be available by June this year across the whole productivity suite, including Office.com, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and the Microsoft 365 admin center.
