There is no way out as Microsoft Teams’ chat experience is coming to Outlook.

Microsoft users can soon enjoy a more collaborative experience thanks to a new Microsoft Teams upgrade. According to Microsoft office 365 parent company, the video conferencing service is developing a feature that would bring Microsoft Teams chats inside Outlook. Furthermore, this allows a meeting-style approach within the email host.

These updated “meetings feature” will allow participants to send a brief message or participate in a discussion without opening Microsoft Teams separately. Thus, eliminating the need for users to jump between apps.

Outlook Meetings

According to the microsoft 365 company’s recent post on the official roadmap, the new feature would give a simple Teams chat experience from Outlook for meeting participants without much hassle.  

There isn’t much information on how the feature will operate just yet However, it appears to be an extension of the Teams capabilities that are already incorporated into Outlook. When both mobile apps are installed the Teams add-on for Outlook is instantly active. It allows users the ability to swiftly mail their contacts.

As of now the feature is presently labeled as “under development,” with a general release date of March 2023. Once released, it will be available to all Outlook online users.

Microsoft is attempting to streamline its communication products. This announcement is the next move in Microsoft Teams integration to Outlook plans.

The new Chat feature

Microsoft unveiled a new feature as the company seeks to streamline its services. This new feature would allow users to run Teams apps within Outlook. It expects that this would result in a more seamless online collaboration experience. The users will no longer need to go back and forth between Teams and Outlook to keep on top of their work.

Users will also be able to obtain and utilize these enhanced Teams applications. With the personal tabs or search-based message extensions option they no longer have to leave the email platform.

The new capability will allow Microsoft Teams users to synchronize their calendars with the email platform. This syncs across the complete Office 365 suite to help users manage their time and pinpoint availability for online meetings.
